Fun on the Grass

When I see ideas t like this I think of all the other fun ways to use the technique.  I know the Easter bunny leaves footprints like this at my friends house, maybe Santa too.  Wouldn't it be fun to "mob" a park one night and when the ball players or kids come out the next morning, the field is covered in flowers or polka dots or stars.  How  could you color these????

Chocolate anyone?

We are seeing those paper lips and mustaches at photo booths and as party favors a lot lately,  but I think these colored chocolate ones take the cake!  Vintage Confections made these ones.  They would be fun for any little boys party... or for the big boys, Father's Day is coming!

April 1st CAN be terrific and COLORFUL

Besides April 1st be the day I got engaged (try explaining that one on April 1st! ha! no one believed me!!)  April Fools Day is a fun day to make these pop top surprises.  This is about my level of ability for April 1st!  

Use a mini fruit can, the size the kids take in their lunches- you can leave the label on and they will think they are opening a can of fruit cocktail!  Come Together Kids has a great photo tutorial for the ones she made.  Not So Idle Hands found pop top cans of several different sized cans.

Fill them with your kids favorite treats and wait for the lunch report after school!

I can see pink and green in the bathrooms, and blue in the kitchen.  It would be funny to have all of the sinks different! -  or the toilets! (Put it in the tank and wait till morning to flush...be sure to be standing outside the door for the reaction!)

" Turn the kitchen sink into a blue lagoon with nontoxic dye pellets, designed to tint children's bathwater. Unscrew the cap on the faucet, and set a couple of the colored tabs inside before replacing it. When the water is turned on, the burst of color will be short-lived yet shocking."

I remember when I was little, our  family went to an amusement park, Universal Studios maybe I think??  And there was is area where everything was giant.  I loved it.  I have been wanting to put something giant i my office area to add a note of silliness.  Now I have directions... (thanks Cathe!)

April Fools Pranks

I sent an email to friends the other day: 

Does anyone have any great ideas for April Fools Day? I always hear about your great ideas after the fact - let me share in the fun with your wonderful ideas!!!  I promise to share with everyone what I find?!"

Well I didn't get a lot of response, but I really laughed hard over what I got.   Ideas never seemed as funny when they were just an idea, but as soon as I heard someone was actually going to do it to someone I knew it became hilarious!

I am going to put Darrin's car on Craigslist for sale.  So that he gets e-mails all day.  You could put salt on his tooth brush.  You can put sponges in brownie mix and bake them and have him eat them.  I may do that and take them to his work. You could sew his underwear shut in the front. 

Bravo Kelly!  I laughed so hard my stomach hurt - I had to call her right away and cheer her on!  Apparently, in the end,  found it funnier then her husband!  Thank you Kelly for the great laugh!!!

MILK DILEMA

Freeze a half a bowl of milk and then add just a little cereal on top and a little fresh milk on top.

FUN WITH COLOR

Put a drop or two of food coloring in the bottom of a cereal bowl and then put the cereal in it. When the person pours the milk in, it will change to the same color as the food coloring.

NAIL POLISH DISASTER

Buy a cheap bottle of nail polish. Dark colors work best! Poor out most of the contents of the bottle into a puddle onto a piece of plastic wrap that is laid on a sturdy paper plate. Lay the empty bottle on its side. Lay the brush coated in nail polish on its side. Let everything dry completely in a hidden spot (about 3-5 days). When your prop is completely dry, peel the nail polish puddle off the plastic wrap. Now you’re ready! To play your trick, lay the dried puddle of nail polish on the page of an open book, planner, calendar, scriptures or other valued item. Lay the brush and nail polish container on their sides nearby, randomly, so it looks like a little one made a mess.

MUFFLED MUFFINS

Make up a normal muffin recipe. Put a little bit of batter in the bottom of each muffin cup. Add a cotton ball. Then scoop muffin batter over it. Bake as usual. 

SCREAM'n ICECREAM

Buy vanilla ice cream in one of those cardboard oval cartons and open the recessed bottom carefully with a sharp knife, cutting along the seam, just a big enough opening to remove ice cream. Remove ice cream through the bottom. Make up a batch of mashed potatoes and pack them into the ice cream carton. Replace the bottom panel carefully. You can secure it with clear packing tape, a toothpick, hot glue gun, or whatever you have on hand. Nobody usually looks at the bottom of an unopened container. Let it freeze up well. Have everyone seated and ask whoever you want to trick if they will scoop. You want everyone to watch them open the container (which has not been opened before). Serve each ice cream scoop with ice cream toppings. 

BOTCHED BEDTIME

Stitch with big stitches the left leg hem on the bottom of your child’s pajamas closed. He’ll put in his right foot first (usually) and then have a bit of trouble with the other pajama leg. Should be tricky getting dressed! Once he figures that out, it’s time to lay down for a good sleep, only the bed sounds crinkly. That’s because you’ve sneaked one of those noisy plastic grocery bags or potato chip bags just under the sheet on the area he would lay down. Once he solves that problem, it really is time to get some sleep! . . . If he can stand the orange that has been stowed secretly into the pillow case on the underside. 

CREAMY OREOS

Replace the filling in Oreo cookies with toothpaste.

DOGGIE DOODOO

Borrow a dog from a friend, get the kids in on the joke, and tell Dad you finally gave in to the request from the kids for a dog. Or cat, hamster, tarantula, python...okay I am completely carried away and would never do those animals!!  Let me know if you ever do!!!
